RUTAS DE SENDERISMO MINGLANILLA - ENGLISH - FRANCAIS

Hiking Routes

Our town has several routes for hiking and enjoying nature.

One of them is the Ruta del Colesterol, which follows the old road from La Pesquera to Minglanilla. This route is characterised by being surrounded by vineyards, almond and olive trees.

Another important route is the Ruta de los Calderones, which can be extended with a visit to the Mines and the Salt Baths (Baños de Sal). It is a circular route of 15.82 kilometres, of moderate difficulty, with a slope 401 metres, and can be completed in about three and a half hours.

The route begins on the outskirts of Minglanilla, in the industrial estate, and heads towards the Hoces del Cabriel and its Cuchillos Natural Reserve. Along the way, walkers follow the hillside with views over the Contreras reservoir, where there are two viewpoints. A wide variety of flora and fauna can be observed along the path.

Further along, another trail leads to the Rambla Salá and the Salt Baths. In the Rambla Salá there are old salt deposits, known as the Salt Mines, as well as saltwater baths that have been restored by the Town Hall.
