Welcome to Ireland

En este espacio compartimos los trabajos realizados por nuestros alumnos sobre los viajes educativos que se han llevado a cabo a lo largo del curso.

HISTORY:

Around 4000 BC. Agriculture was introduced from the continent, bringing to the native Irish a Neolithic culture, characterized by the appearance of gigantic stone monuments, most of which were found astronomically aligned. Throughout that time, the culture was prosperous and the island became more densely populated. In the period from 1919 to 1921, the Irish Republican Army (IRA) fought a guerrilla war against the British Army and the paramilitary units known as the Black and Tans. Both sides developed a brutal fight; the Black and Tans burned entire towns and tortured civilians. The IRA, for its part, killed those civilians it suspected of helping or being informants for the British or destroying historical sites in response to British attacks on the homes of real or suspected republicans. This fight was called the "War of Independence" or the "Anglo Irish War."
