En este espacio compartimos los trabajos realizados por nuestros alumnos sobre los viajes educativos que se han llevado a cabo a lo largo del curso. 



Roman civilization began in the 8th century BC. It went through different political moments, from the monarchy to the republic, ending in an empire that ended up divided in two. The Western Roman Empire fell in 476 AD, while the Eastern Byzantine Empire ended with the fall of Constantinople in 14531. The city of Rome was founded progressively by the settlement of Latin tribes in the area of the traditional seven hills, through the creation of small villages on its summits, which ended up merging (9th and 8th centuries B.C.


TURIST ATRACCIONS AND POINTS OF INTEREST

  • The Colisseum
  • The Colosseum is an amphitheater built 2,000 years ago and was used for almost 5 centuries. 
  • Roman Forum 
  • Located between Piazza Venezia and the Colosseum, the Roman Forum was the hub of political and social activity of the Roman citizens.
  • Piazza Navona 
  • With its three majestic fountains and surrounding mansions, Piazza Navona is one of the most beautiful Baroque squares in Rome. 
  • Trevi Fountain 
  • Trevi Fountain is the most beautiful and most spectacular fountain in Rome. Millions of people visit it every year to make a wish.
  • Pantheon 
  • Completed by Hadrian in the year 126AD, the Pantheon claims to be the best preserved building from ancient Rome.
  •  St. Peter ' s Basilica 
  • One of the largest churches in the world and built in the Renaissance style. Many Popes have been buried here

WEATHER

  • Winter: Moderately cold and humid. Temperature ranges: 10ºC-12ºC, rarely below 0ºC. Minimum temperatures around 5ºC; freezing at night.
  •  Autumn: Mild and brief. Average temperature around 15ºC in October and November.
  •  Spring: Clear skies, warm temperatures during the day. April temperatures: 15º/16º, May temperatures can reach up to 25º. 
  • Summer: Average temperature: 22ºC – 24ºC, reaching up to 35ºC. Relatively dry climate. 

  • Official name: Italian Republic, with an area of 302,073 km2.
  •  Located in southern Europe, forming a peninsula from the Alps to the African coast.
  •  Rome, the capital, is located in the valley of the 7 hills near the Tiber River

TYPICAL FOOD
  • Carpaccio: Thin slices of raw meat or fish seasoned with olive oil and lemon. 
  • Ensalada caprese: Mozzarella cheese with tomato. 
  • Frutti di mare: seafood 
  • Bresaola: Cured beef.
  •  Prosciutto: Italian cured ham.
  •  Risotto: Creamy rice. 
  • Gnocchi: Pasta made from potatoes. 

Hercules and Cacus (Piazza de Firenze): Sculpture depicting Hercules' triumph over the oxthief Cacus. 
The She-Wolf (Foundation of Rome): Mythology of a she-wolf nurturing Romulus and Remus, founding Rome and symbolizing the MotherGoddess. 
Circe and King Pico: Legend of King Pico transformed into a woodpeckerby Circe, preserving his divinatory gifts. 
The Passetto di Borgo: Walled path connecting the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo, used as an escape route by the Pope.
The Alley of the Mazzamurelli (Trastevere): Tale of protective or transformative spirits, the "Mazzamurelli," in an alley in Trastevere. 
Nero's Tomb and Basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo: Nero's suicide in Piazza di Popolo, followed by exorcism, felling of a cursed walnut tree, and construction of the Basilica. 
Tacita Muda (Nymph Lara): The nymph Lara, punished by Jupiter, becomes Tacita Muda, the goddess of silence, after beingviolated by Mercury
