THE CHURCH OF GRAJA DE INIESTA
The church of Graja de Iniesta is the parish of Saint George the Martyr, declared part of the town’s heritage. It is a 17th-century construction.
The exterior preserves remains from the time of its construction, especially on the western gable, with its bell gable without a pediment, made of ashlar stone and featuring three openings with semicircular arches for the bells.
The main entrance consists of a large semicircular arch.
Inside, it has a rectangular nave with a flat apse, and a wooden roof. The oldest elements of the church are a painting of Jesus on the Cross with Mary weeping, as well as some tiles located in the confessional area, which date back several centuries.
In that area, above the baptismal font, is the choir.
L’ÉGLISE DE GRAJA DE INIESTA
L’église de Graja de Iniesta est la paroisse de San Jorge Mártir, et elle est considérée comme un patrimoine de la ville.
C’est une construction du XVIIème siècle.
À l’extérieur, on peut voir des restes de l’époque de sa construction, surtout sur le mur du côté ouest avec son clocher sans fronton, fait de pierres grandes et avec trois ouvertures en demi-cercle pour mettre les cloches.
La porte principale est formée par un grand arc en demi-cercle.
À l’intérieur, il y a une nef rectangulaire, avec une abside plate et le toit est en bois. La chose la plus ancienne de l’église est un tableau de Jésus sur la Croix et Marie qui pleure, et aussi des carreaux dans la partie du confessionnal, qui datent de plusieurs siècles.
Dans cette partie, au-dessus du baptistère, se trouve le chœur.
