LOS MURALES DE MINGLANILLA - ENGLISH - FRANCAIS

THE MURALS OF MINGLANILLA

The murals are an artistic expression that enhances the town of Minglanilla and were created to provide the locality with an additional tourist attraction.

They are located at strategic points. The first mural can be found at the junction of the old Madrid–Valencia road with the Cuenca one. It depicts a grape harvest scene with a typical landscape and is entitled “The Grape Harvest of Bacchus”.

The second mural can be found along the same main road, next to the park. It shows a young man collecting water from a stone fountain, thus referring to the legend of “Minga la Galanilla, from which the town is supposedly named.

The third and final mural is located on a street near the street market area. It is entitled “The Offering. The artwork shows a basket containing the offering that is taken to the Holy Christ during the patron saint festivities by the Ladies of Honour.

The artist is a young man from Puertollano called David Karabantes, a renowned graffiti artist who creates compositions full of realism, chromatic intensity and expressiveness.
